Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.
Hello, I’m Catherine, a writer educated in information management who specializes in content marketing, educational content, and helping businesses build loyalty and trust with their customers.
In a nutshell, I do thorough research and write content with an intended audience and goal in mind. I take what you are trying to communicate and put it on paper, or since it’s 2024, a screen.
What I can help you with:
– Website copy (That “About Us” page seemed a lot easier before you found yourself staring at a blinking cursor, didn’t it?)
– Educational content such as lesson plans, lesson content, and question banks. My knowledge includes hobby-related topics for adults like interior design and cooking, high school-level humanities, and elementary school science, specifically dinosaurs and animals. Contact me for more details and if your topic falls in my area of expertise.
– Content marketing. Providing well-researched, fresh information tailored to an intended audience can be challenging….it’s my specialty.
– Unsure if I have the skills for your job? Drop me a note and I’ll let you know. Don’t worry, I hate wasting time. I’ll be upfront and honest if I can’t deliver an exceptional product.
Why hire a freelance writer?
Well, why hire your business?
– Because you’re an expert in your field.
– Delegating tasks is the secret of good managers, and when you delegate to a professional, you’ll end up with something that achieves your intended goals be that developing a brand, increasing sales, or helping keep your employees on track with training manuals, or mission statements.
– Save yourself time and money by hiring me to craft your business’s content.
Now you’re probably thinking “Ok so you’re a writer, I need a writer, but how do I know you’ll do a good job?”
It’s cool, I take time to trust people too.
Proof that other people like my writing:
- My work has appeared in Bellingham Alive Magazine, North Sound Life Publishing’s Couture weddings, Pryme Mag, Mother.ly, and various sites across the internet.
- Work I’ve done: website content (about us, landing pages), product descriptions, grant writing, blog posts, in-depth magazine articles, training guides, mission statements, social media marketing content, lesson plans, business plans, e-newsletter campaigns, content for a literature database, and editing work.
- Industries I’ve covered: finance, educational, food, bridal dresses/style, interior design, travel, health/wellness, beauty (mainly salons, not necessarily products), management (of people and time), and lifestyle articles (creative art projects for kids, considerations for car buyers, etc.).
I enjoy delving into different industries and my research skills are on pointe. I won’t BS you, if a topic requires a ton of research on my part I’ll let you know upfront.
“Ok that’s great, but I want to know more.”
I’ve been professionally writing since January 2015.
Recent Years: In addition to taking on freelance writing and editing jobs, I earned a MA in Library and Information Science from St. John’s University in Queens, NY in 2022. The degree took my research and information management skills to another level. Additionally, I received an Advanced Certification in Management for Information Professionals.
Editorial Experience: Intern and then a staff writer at North Sound Publishing in Bellingham, WA (May 2016- July 2018). I contributed articles to the award-winning Bellingham Alive! Magazine, North End Metro Magazine, and the annual Couture Weddings issue. Finally, I gained social media marketing experience while working with Pryme Group from Fall 2016 to Spring 2018.
Previous career: BS in English from the US Air Force Academy and a MA in Humanities from the American Military University. I served as an Airfield Operations Officer in the Air Force from 2009-2014. I’ve managed more than 95 Airmen and civilians in the operation of a busy airfield. My final assignment in the Air Force was teaching future officers in my career field. Along the way, I’ve written numerous technical reports, guidelines, letters, lesson plans, and presentations, and dealt with every managerial issue in the book.
